A young man was stabbed in a popular area of Derby during the weekend.

The man, 18, was taken to hospital with injuries after being attacked in broad daylight at the corner of Grange Street and Rose Hill Street around 6pm on Saturday.

Police attended the incident and cordoned off roads as they gathered evidence.

Police have launched an investigation following the attack and have asked witnesses to come forward. A spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said: “The force was called to reports that an 18-year-old teenager had been stabbed at the corner of Grange Street, at the junction with Rose Hill Street, just before 6pm on Saturday, August 31.

“The boy was taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries. It is believed he will make a full recovery. Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and the officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about the incident.”
