A new bin installed at Bramblehedge Drive and Morlich Drive has become the target of vandals.

This has left a local councillor frustrated and appealing for information. The bin, which was requested by residents was first placed as part of a three-month trial.

It has been overturned twice within a month, causing concern over potential removal. Councillor Sarah Chambers, in a social media post, voiced frustration at the repeated incidents.

The labour representative emphasized the financial impact and potential loss of the much-needed facility if the anti-social behaviour persists.

“Every time something like this happens, it affects us all financially and will potentially be removed,” the councillor stated.

The bin has already shown demand based on high usage, yet the councillor warned that further tipping or fly-tipping might prompt its removal.

They are urging residents to provide any CCTV footage or information on the offenders to prevent a “minority from spoiling it for the majority.”

Residents are encouraged to help safeguard the bin. They must report any suspicious activity directly to the councillor to keep the valued amenity.
