City centre officers tackled a range of issues in an action-packed day, standing firm against crime and supporting community safety.

The coordinated efforts included the assistance of PSCO Wright, who helped locate a high-risk missing person. Meanwhile, PCSOs Broster and Saxton joined PC Andrew in detaining a shoplifter attempting to flee from store staff.

Additional officers conducted inquiries in town to address local drug activity.  As a lighthearted note in the day’s efforts, PCSOs Broster and Saxton also crossed paths with Gladiators star “Giant.”

The team will be out again tomorrow, welcoming residents to say hello as they continue their mission for a safer city. A spokesperson for Derby City Centre Police SNT said: “Its been a busy day for the team today!

“Our other police officers have been making enquiries around drug dealing in the area.
PCSO Broster and PCSO Saxton also had the pleasure of bumping into Giant from Gladiators.”
