Emergency services descended on Derby City Centre on Saturday night and into Sunday morning as partygoers fell ill.

East Midlands Ambulance Services, St John’s Ambulance and Derbyshire Police were all over the city centre. They were most active after 1 am, especially around Friar Gate.

Derby Now spotted two ambulances close to Primark in town. At the scene, one person was receiving treatment on the floor, along Corn Market street.

At the second scene, where Sadler Gate meets The Strand, another person initially lay on the floor too. They were then made to sit on the back of a paramedic’s advance car before being taken into a larger ambulance.

At that scene, at least four police cars were parked close by, including one van. Several officers remained in the area for the rest of the night.

Several officers were also spotted keeping an eye around Wardwick, where clubs were packed through the night. Derby Now spotted the occasional pushing and shoving as well.
