Three men have been jailed for over 13 years after a burglary spree targeting homes in the Derbyshire Dales in April last year.
Ronnie Coleman, 21, Rocco Carr, 20, and Brandon Hollingworth, 27, forced their way into homes in Monyash, Bakewell, and three properties in Baslow on April 18, 2024. They stole cash, jewellery, car and house keys, a passport, and a medal.
The trio was intercepted the next day by Derbyshire police. Officers from the Neighbourhood Acquisitive Crime Team, Proactive Team, and traffic officers located the suspects travelling in a black Ford Focus on Greenhill Parkway, Sheffield. Although they attempted to flee, the car was stopped using a stinger device.

Carr, of Danewood Gardens, Sheffield, was identified through CCTV and a forensic examination of a water bottle found in the vehicle, which matched his fingerprints. He was arrested on April 19, and his address was searched.
Hollingworth, also of Danewood Gardens, was present during the search. He was arrested after being identified as one of the men fleeing the Ford Focus on CCTV. Police recovered cash in various currencies, and clothing matching CCTV footage was found in a washing machine at the address.
Coleman, of Seaton Crescent, Sheffield, was linked to the crime through a mobile phone recovered from the vehicle. The phone contained videos of him at the burgled properties, timestamped to match the break-ins.

What happened after the burglary spree in Derbyshire Dales?
All three men were charged with five counts of burglary and remanded into custody. Coleman also admitted to an unrelated theft of a Mercedes in October 2023.
The men appeared at Derby Crown Court on December 19, 2024. Coleman received a sentence of three years and seven months, Carr was jailed for five and a half years, and Hollingworth was sentenced to four years and six months.

Detective Sergeant Ryan McVeigh, from the Acquisitive Crime Team, said:
“Burglary is an invasive crime, which takes away the feelings of safety and sanctuary that a home should provide and is something we treat very seriously.
“These men, wrongly, assumed that they could wantonly target and steal from these properties without being caught. I’d like to thank the various teams across the force, in particular the Proactive Team and Roads Policing Unit, who worked together seamlessly to ensure that Coleman, Carr, and Hollingworth were brought to justice for their crimes.”
