A daring driver who waltzed around on a cloned plate has been nicked after eagle eyed officers recognised him.
Although initially legging it from the police, officers found him in another one.
PC Holmes-Small and PC Williams arrested the suspect in Midway following a high-speed pursuit after receiving intelligence about a vehicle on cloned plates.
The driver failed to stop for officers, running a red light at a four-way junction before being tracked down by the Roads Policing Unit in Brizlincote Valley, Burton, where he attempted to hide in a different car.
Speaking on the incident, a spokesperson stated, “Our officers don’t miss a trick and, knowing the local residents, were able to identify the driver despite the change of vehicle.”
The male was arrested on multiple charges, including failing to stop for police, driving without valid insurance, possession of a bladed article, and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
The suspect is now awaiting a court appearance.
