Police in Derby need your help.

The force is appealing to members of the public who have CCTV of the plane or the incident to share it with them. Police, who launched an investigation following the fatal crash, are looking CCTV footage of the light aircraft shot between 8.55am and 9.15am on Sunday September 1.

The crash claimed the life of a 70-year-old pilot. who had been the only person on board. An investigation was launched after, and roads in and around Sheepbridge Lane, Sheepbridge, Chesterfield remain closed.

A spokesperson for Derby Police said: “Officers investigating a light aircraft crash in Chesterfield in which a man died are appealing for CCTV footage.

“Emergency services were called to the crash at land off Sheepbridge Lane, Sheepbridge, Chesterfield yesterday (Sunday, September 1). The pilot, a man in his 70s, was the only person on board and died in the collision.

“Investigations into the incident are ongoing and a number of roads in the immediate area remain closed. We are keen to hear from anyone who has any CCTV footage of the plane between 8.55am and 9.15am on Sunday, September 1.

“Anyone who can help with our investigation is asked to contact us using any of the below methods, quoting the reference 24*521057”
