A Derby man slashed and stabbed his partner in the eye before hitting him with an ashtray in a brutal attack.

Peter Krock, 21, brutally attacked his partner Neil Swain in Normanton. His first blow punctured his partner’s eyeball.

Krock fled the house after he stabbed his partner in the eye in December last year. Ambulance services rushed to the address to treat Swain.

But, the injuries were so severe that Neil Swain lost the punctured eye. Peter Krock, of Glengarry Way, in Sinfin, went on the run after the frenzied attack.

Krock was arrested on January 8, three weeks later. He was charged with attempted murder.

At Derby Crown Court, Krock denied that he stabbed his partner in the eye. However, he was convicted following a full trial.

On Friday, November 15, Peter Krok was sentenced to 14 years. A judge told him he would have to serve at least 9 years and some months (two-thirds).

Detective Constable Emma Archer described Peter Krok’s actions as a fierce attack on someone who trusted him. She stated that the victim’s injuries were severe and that survival was only due to sheer chance.

The attack has caused lasting trauma for the victim, Mr. Swain, profoundly affecting his life moving forward. DC Archer highlighted that the lengthy sentence reflects the seriousness of the crime and its violent nature.

She expressed hope that the case’s conclusion will provide closure and some relief to the victim’s ongoing struggles. Krok must now face justice, serving a significant amount of time behind bars for his actions.

Detective Constable Emma Archer, who led the investigation, said: “Peter Krok launched a fierce attack on someone who trusted him completely.

“The victim’s injuries were extremely serious and it is only by chance that he was not killed that day. The longer-term impact on Mr Swain cannot be understated.

“The sentence imposed today shows that this offence has been taken very seriously and Krok must now face a substantial amount of time behind bars. I hope that the conclusion of this case will now allow the victim to find some closure.”
