A dangerous convicted robber has escaped from prison.
Raymond McMahon, 44, who was serving a sentence for robbery failed to return to the open prison following a day release on Saturday, September 7.
McMahon is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build, with short black hair. Authorities have warned that he has links to Birmingham.
The public is urged not to approach McMahon if they see him. Instead, anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the police, quoting reference number 1325 of 7 September.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: “We are appealing for information after a convict escaped from HMP Sudbury. Raymond McMahon did not return to the prison after day release on Saturday 7 September.
“He was serving a sentence for robbery. He is white, around 5ft 10ins tall and of a medium build with black short hair.
“The 44-year-old has links to Birmingham. Members of the public are asked not to approach McMahon and instead contact us with reference 1325 of 7 September:”
