A market stallholder was violently assaulted by two bikers during a robbery attempt in Long Eaton yesterday.

The incident occurred around 1:30p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, at the bustling Market Place. Police say two motorcyclists approached a ‘cash for gold’ stall and attacked the stallholder.

The pillion passenger on the bike dismounted and confronted the stallholder, leading to a heated altercation. The situation quickly escalated, and the stallholder was assaulted by the passenger.

Fortunately, despite the aggression, the robbers fled the scene empty-handed. Both assailants were dressed in black and wearing helmets, making their identities difficult to discern.

They were also seen carrying a distinctive yellow JD Sports bag. The suspects reportedly fled the scene on a grey and black Yamaha FZ8 motorcycle, noted for its blue front forks and blue cylinder head cover.

Authorities are currently investigating whether this incident is linked to a similar robbery attempt that occurred shortly before 1:50pm. on Upper Parliament Street in Nottingham. The descriptions of the suspects in both cases appear to match, raising concerns of a coordinated series of crimes.

Local detectives are appealing for any information or footage that may help identify the perpetrators. Anyone with CCTV, dash cam, or mobile phone footage from the area is urged to contact the police, referencing case number 24*525846.

Detectives are also keen to hear from motorists who may have seen the motorbike on Western Boulevard or Beechdale in Nottingham around 1:15 p.m. on the same day.
