Tyres deflated on impact after lunchtime collision on busy Derby road

Two vehicles suffered varying degrees of damage after an accident on Harvey Road in Alvaston this afternoon.

A black VW Polo and a Grey Nissan were involved in a collision just after 1pm. The VW took the most damage with its entire front side suffering extensive destruction.

The drivers were not seriously injured. A recovery truck was called and took both cars away.

The accident did not affect traffic significantly either. A smooth flow of traffic was observed, with only slight delays when the recovery lorry was mounting the black VW.

Police confirmed the incident. A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: “We received reports of a collision in Harvey Road, Alvaston, just after 1 pm on Monday, November 4.
