A devastating tragedy has seen a woman killed after an e-bike was rammed in a Derbyshire village.
The 25-year-old victim had been riding on an e-bike as a passenger when a dark-coloured 4×4 allegedly rammed them. The collision happened on Batley Lane, in Pleasely around 8 pm on Tuesday, November 26.
Authorities say the dark-coloured 4×4, thought to be a Land Rover manufactured sometime between the mid to late 2000s followed an e-bike. The bike was being ridden by a man in his 20s.
The Land Rover Discovery is reported to have followed the bike riders and rammed them. They both fell off the bike.
The rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Police however say the rider’s injuries are not life-threatening.
The pillion passenger however was declared dead at the scene.

Derbyshire Police launched an immediate murder investigation. They say a man and a woman from Nottingham have been arrested.
Police appeal after woman killed in bike ramming incident in Derbyshire
Derbyshire Police are appealing to members of the public who either witnessed the accident, captured it on dashcam, or spotted the Land Rover to come forward.
Police, who say they have been working non-stop, are also keen to hear from people who know or saw a vehicle matching the description with damage or being repaired.
DCI Claudia Musson, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is an understandably shocking incident that has left a family grieving the loss of a young woman.
“A team of detectives have been working non-stop since the incident took place and have generated significant lines of enquiry.
“We are, however, wanting to hear from anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to help us bring those responsible to justice.

“Of particular interest is anyone with information about a dark-coloured Land Rover Discovery, it may be that you saw it in the area around the time of the incident – or you have seen a vehicle matching this description that may have sustained damage or been recently repaired.”
