Fatal A38 crash: A man in his 20s has died following a crash on the A38 near Mickleover in the early hours of Monday, January 6.
The collision, which involved a green Lamborghini Urus, occurred around 2:45 am near Mickleover Golf Club.
Emergency services pronounced the driver dead at the scene. A passenger in the car, a woman also in her 20s, sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

The crash led to the closure of the A38 between the A511 for Mickleover and the A50 near Findern for 11 hours.
The southbound carriageway reopened at approximately 6:30 am, while the northbound lanes remained shut until around 2 pm, causing significant delays for commuters during the morning rush hour.

Derbyshire police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of the incident. A spokesperson said: “The driver of the Lamborghini, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His family are aware, and our thoughts are with them. Officers investigating a fatal collision are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.”
