South Derbyshire’s police have launched Operation Coalway, an overnight crackdown targeting burglary and vehicle crime.

Multiple teams, including the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), Force Proactive Unit, Roads Policing Unit, and the burglary/auto crime team (NACT), conducted dedicated patrols across the region.

Using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology and pursuit vehicles, officers tracked and intercepted offenders suspected of burglary, vehicle theft, and theft from cars.

The police crackdown extended beyond Derbyshire, with cross-border collaboration to monitor and apprehend those entering the county to commit crimes.
