Tesco Clubcard holders have been warned they could end up £401.44 worse off annually compared to those who shop at Aldi.

The analysis by consumer magazine Which?.compared the costs of 55 commonly purchased food and drink items at UK supermarkets in November. Aldi emerged as the cheapest, with an average weekly shop costing £97.89.

Are loyalty schemes like Tesco Clubcard better than Aldi or Lidl

While Tesco’s Clubcard offers savings on selected products, it has not been enough to compete with Aldi’s consistently lower prices.

Similarly, Lidl’s loyalty scheme offers slight benefits but keeps prices competitive with Aldi.

The findings suggest that for shoppers looking to save money, discounters like Aldi and Lidl remain the best options, particularly during a cost-of-living crisis.
